Effects of carbon and phosphorus addition on the fatigue properties of ultrafine-grained steels

This report describes the fatigue properties of carbon- and phosphorus-added ultrafine-grained steels comprising ferrite grains below 1 μm. The fatigue limits σw showed a linear relationship with the tensile strengths σB, and the fatigue limit ratios (σw/σB) were above 0.5 even when the tensile strength exceeded 1000 MPa.
