Low-complexity compression of holograms based on delta modulation

► A method for compressing optical scanning hologram by 64 times has been developed. ► The compression method is based on delta modulation and row decimation. ► Encoding and decoding processes are low in complexity, enabling real-time operation. ► Small amount of storage memory is needed in the encoding and decoding processes. ► The decoded hologram is real and can be displayed on a spatial light modulator.
