Ge-codoped fibers for mitigating stimulated Brillouin scattering in high power fiber amplifiers

►We proposed several fiber designs to mitigate stimulated Brillouin scattering in laser fibers. ►The numerical modeling shows an increase in SBS threshold by 3-6 dB. ►The key parameters that can affect the SBS performance are specified and optimized. ►The study also highlights the effects of minor index profile variation on SBS.
