Revision of ground albedo estimation in Heliosat scheme for deriving solar radiation from SEVIRI HRV channel of Meteosat satellite

► Ground albedo shows variable dependence with the viewing angle depending on the reflectivity. ► A simple method for determining the angular dependence of the ground albedo is proposed. ► Cloud index and solar radiation retrievals are improved by the proposed ground albedo estimation.
