Thermal analysis and in vitro bioactivity of bioactive glass-alumina composites

► Isostatically pressed glass-alumina composites presented apatite-forming ability. ► The interaction with SBF resulted in an aluminium phosphate phase formation. ► The formation of an aluminium phosphate phase enhanced the in vitro apatite growth.
