Investigation on the residual stress and microstructure of (TiBÂ +Â TiC)/Ti-6Al-4V composite after shot peening

▶ The variations of residual stresses in surface layers are researched in detail. ▶ The studies of microstructure include grain sizes, microstrain and hardness. ▶ The effect of reinforcements' resistance to the deformation has been discussed. ▶ Comparing to the reinforcements, the effects of shot peening are dominate. ▶ Hardness is influenced by reinforcements acting as sink sources of dislocations.
