Comparison of compressive deformation and fracture behaviors of Zr- and Ti-based metallic glasses with notches

▶ We investigated the plastic deformation mechanism of different metallic glasses with notches. ▶ The plasticity of different metallic glasses can be improved by installing two symmetrical notches. ▶ By employed the CSSD concept, the size of smooth regions on the fracture surface could be interpreted suitably. ▶ The plasticity differences between the Zr- and Ti-based metallic glasses might be explained by the CSSD concept.
