Effects of curcumin on the dorsal root ganglion structure and functional recovery after sciatic nerve crush in rat

► Sciatic function index and dorsal root ganglion cells were evaluated after sciatic nerve crush. ► Volume and surface of A- and B-cells reduced after crush. ► Number of A-, B- and satellite cells reduced after crush. ► Curcumin promotes the functional recovery of the nerve. ► Curcumin has a neuroprotective effect on the dorsal root ganglion cells.
