Isothermal and thermal cycling oxidation of hot-dip aluminide coating on flake/spheroidal graphite cast iron

► Microstructure of hot-dip aluminide coating on cast irons has been investigated. ► High-temperature oxidation resistance of cast irons was improved with aluminide coating. ► Different graphite structure results in diverse quality of aluminide coatings. ► Aluminide coating on flake graphite cast iron exhibits less oxidation resistance and adhesion to the substrate.
