Effect of composition on the growth and microstructure of hafnia-zirconia based coatings

► Coatings of yttria-stabilized hafnia-zirconia co-system were fabricated. ► Effect of composition on the microstructure of the coatings is evaluated. ► All the coatings exhibit cubic hafnia phase. ► Lattice parameter increases with increasing zirconia content. ► High temperature stability of the coatings is demonstrated.
