Mechanical and wear characterization of electroless nickel-boron coatings

► Complete mechanical characterization of electroless Ni-B coatings was carried out. ► Hardness and Taber Wear Index are better after heat treatment at 400 °C. ► As deposited and heat treated Ni-B coatings show good resistance to scratch test. ► Ni-B coatings show a ductile behavior during scratch test.
