Oxidation resistance of decorative (Ti,Mg)N coatings deposited by hybrid cathodic arc evaporation-magnetron sputtering process

► As a function of the Mg content, (Ti,Mg)N films exhibit various colours. ► After air oxidation, MgTiO3 is evidenced in the oxide layer. ► At low temperature, Mg addition improves the oxidation resistance of TiN-based films.
