The study of NiAl-TiB2 coatings prepared by electro-thermal explosion ultrahigh speed spraying technology

► NiAl-TiB2 coatings are prepared by electro-thermal explosion ultrahigh speed spraying. ► The coatings have fine microstructure with submicron grains. ► The addition of TiB2 in NiAl increases its hardness, but decreases oxidation resistance at high temperature of NiAl coating.
