Protecting stainless steel by glass coating during slab reheating

► We prepared a glass coating to slow down high-temperature oxidation of stainless steel during slab reheating process. ► Molten glass layer forms as oxygen diffusion barrier at high temperature. ► This low-cost and easy handling method is potentially applicable in industrial scale.
