Surface modification of indium tin oxide films with Au ions implantation: Characterization and application in bioelectrochemistry

► Implanting Au ions into ITO film to form gold nanoparticles. ► The average radius of the gold nanoparticles was estimated between 2 and 5 nm. ► The electrode exhibited effective catalytic responses towards ascorbic acid. ► The film also can offer a favorable microenvironment for Myoglobin.
