Preparation and wear performance of NiCr/Cr3C2-NiCr/hBN plasma sprayed composite coating

► NiCr clad hBN was added to NiCr/Cr3C2 feedstock to improve tribological properties. ► NiCr cladding reduces the decarburization of Cr3C2 and oxidation of hBN cores. ► The friction coefficient and wear constant of counterpart decrease. ► Layered hBN between the wear couples improves lubrication condition.
