Chirp excitation of ultrasonic guided waves

► Broadband and narrowband chirp excitations are used to excite guided waves in plates. ► Broadband chirps are useful to efficiently acquire multiple tone burst responses. ► Narrowband chirps are useful to achieve high SNR from a single acquisition. ► We recommend that chirps be routinely used for guided wave measurements.
