Synthesis and characterization of magnetic diphase ZnFe2O4/γ-Fe2O3 electrospun fibers

► Nanofibers were produced by electrospinning from a sol-gel. ► ZnFe2O4/γ-Fe2O3 formed after cacination in air from 300 to 800 °C. ► Fibers were ferrimagnetic with high saturation magnetization. ► Crystallite particle size and saturation magnetization increase with temperature. ► Magnetic domains with sizes similar to topographical grains were observed.
