Characterization of nuclear import and export signals determining the subcellular localization of WD repeat-containing protein 42A (WDR42A)

► We identified an NLS and an NES mediating nuclear import or export of WDR42A. ► The nuclear import depends on karyopherin-α1/-β1 heterodimer and GTPase Ran. ► The NES functions through the CRM1-dependent nuclear export pathway.
