Prevention of fasting-mediated bone marrow atrophy by leptin administration

► Leptin prevented the reduction of bone marrow lymphocyte in fasted mice. ► In vitro, leptin did not prevent steroid-induced apoptosis in bone marrow B cells. ► Direct effect of leptin to bone marrow was not essential for development of B cells.
