The effects of preservation procedures on amniotic membrane's ability to serve as a substrate for cultivation of endothelial cells

► The lyophilized AM in the wet condition is similar to the fresh and cryopreserved AM and tolerates suture well. ► Preservation procedures do not affect on the extracellular matrix of the basement membrane. ► Lyophilization decreases thickness and Fmax of the AM. ► The lyophilized AM has better adhesion property than the fresh and cryopreserved AM and even tissue culture dishes. ► The lyophilized AM is a biocompatible substrate for endothelial cells culture.
