Chromatin associated Sin3A is essential for male germ cell lineage in the mouse

► Deletion of Sin3A in the germ cell lineage leads to male sterility. ► Sin3A-deleted testes acquire a Sertoli cell only phenotype. ► Sin3A prevents apoptosis in male germ cells resuming mitosis at birth. ► Germ cell loss triggered by Sin3A deletion affects the Sertoli cells expression program.
