Arv1 lipid transporter function is conserved between pathogenic and nonpathogenic fungi

► We examine the degree of homology between pathogenic and nonpathogenic Arv1. ► The Arv1 homology domains in all species tested are conserved. ► The Arv1 homology domain is required for antifungal drug tolerance. ► Candidaalbicans cells lacking CaArv1 are avirulent.
