Histone H2B ubiquitin ligases RNF20 and RNF40 in androgen signaling and prostate cancer cell growth

► RNF20 (hBRE1A)/RNF40 (hBRE1B) complex monoubiquitylates histone H2B. ► mRNA expression data suggest that the RNF20 is deregulated in prostate cancers. ► RNF20 and RNF40 interact with androgen receptor. ► Depletion of RNF20/RNF40 retards the proliferation of LNCaP prostate cancer cells. ► Cellular amount of RNF20/RNF40 may contribute to the prostate cancer cell growth.
