Patientenpartizipation bei Festlegung und Gewichtung von Behandlungszielen – Status quo und Entwicklungspotenziale

ZusammenfassungPatientenpartizipation erfolgt im Gesundheitswesen auf verschiedenen Ebenen: Auf Mikroebene werden in diesem Artikel die Konzepte der evidenzbasierten Patienteninformation und des Shared Decision Making beschrieben. Auf Makroebene wird auf die Möglichkeiten der Patientenpartizipation im Gemeinsamen Bundesausschuss und im Rahmen der Auftragsbearbeitung des Instituts für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen fokussiert. Zukünftige Entwicklungspotenziale auf Mikroebene werden in der besseren Evaluation von Patienteninformationen und Entscheidungshilfen sowie in der Einbeziehung von Professionellen und deren Berufsverbänden bei der Entwicklung dieser Medien gesehen. Entwicklungspotenziale auf Makroebene stellen eine weitere institutionelle Verankerung und Ausstattung mit Ressourcen der Patientenvertreter in den öffentlichen Institutionen sowie die Einbeziehung bei der Gewichtung von patientenrelevanten Endpunkten vor der Nutzenbewertung medizinischer Interventionen dar.(Wie vom Gastherausgeber eingereicht)

SummaryIn health care, patient participation takes place on different levels. This article gives two examples of possible patient involvement on the micro level (evidence-based patient information and shared decision making) and, as examples for the macro level, a description of the opportunities for patient participation in decision making processes of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) and the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care in Germany (IQWiG).Future possibilities to enhance patient participation on the micro level include more rigorous evaluation of patient information and decision aids. The involvement of professional caregivers in the development of these tools might improve their use in health care. On the macro level, participation of patients in decision making should be further established (e.g., by increasing their resources). The involvement of patients in the weighting of patient-important outcomes before health technology assessment takes place could be a further enhancement.(As supplied by publisher)
