Females prefer good genes: MHC-associated mate choice in wild and captive tuco-tucos

► We evaluated mate choice in relation to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genotype in talas tuco-tucos. ► Laboratory and field analyses indicated that female mate choice is influenced by MHC genotype. ► Our results provide support for the good genes hypothesis.
