Analysing small-scale aggregation in animal visits in space and time: the ST-BBD method

► We propose a new spatiotemporal framework to measure aggregation in movement data. ► We quantified ranging behaviours of three primate species in space and time. ► Spider monkeys showed higher aggregation than howler monkeys. ► Aggregation in red colobus was dependent on group size and food availability. ► Aggregation could be estimated similarly for host-parasite and seed dispersal models.
