Identification of putative cathepsin S in mangrove red snapper Lutjanus argentimaculatus and its role in antigen presentation

► Screened and identified a CTSS cDNA sequence from the mangrove red snapper. ► The recombinant CTSS of mangrove red snapper had autocatalytic activation properties. ► CTSS can process recombinant Ii chains and play a key role in antigen processing in fish.
