Cloning and characterisation of the SpToll gene from green mud crab, Scylla paramamosain

► We found a novel Toll homologue in green mud crab Scylla paramamosain (SpToll). ► It displayed a characteristic structure of the Toll/TLR family. ► The SpToll transcription could be up-regulated significantly after pathogenic infection. ► A SNP mutation in SpToll might be associated with enhanced resistance of crab to pathogens.
