Cryptocaryon irritans infection induces the acute phase response in Lates calcarifer: A transcriptomic perspective

► Immune response of Lates calcarifer towards Cryptocaryon irritans was investigated. ► Fish infected with C. irritans show obvious signs of infection at 2 dpi. ► C. irritans infection induced an acute phase response in L. calcarifer. ► Acute phase proteins were highly induced on days 2 and 3 post C. irritans infection.
