Grouper translationally controlled tumor protein prevents cell death and inhibits the replication of Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV)

► A TCTP gene of orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides (Ec-TCTP) was cloned and characterized. ► Ec-TCTP was distributed predominantly in the cytoplasm. ► Ec-TCTP protected cell death induced by cycloheximide (CHX). ► Ec-TCTP could inhibit the replication of Singapore grouper iridovirus(SGIV).
