The cloning and inducible expression of the rainbow trout ERp57 gene

► ERp57 was cloned from rainbow trout and there are two genes in the trout genome. ► One gene product has a strong ER retention signal and the other has a strong NLS. ► Trout ERp57 is expressed strongly in liver and egg at the mRNA and protein level. ► ERp57 protein is strongly expressed in immune organs: spleen, head kidney and gill. ► Trout ERp57 is upregulated by both immunostimulatory and ER stress inducing agents.
