Determination of dopamine at the nanogram level based on the formation of Prussian blue nanoparticles by resonance Rayleigh scattering technique

► RRS spectra of the dopamine-Fe(III)-[Fe(CN)6]3− system were studied. ► Formation mechanism of Prussian blue nanoparticles produced by dopamine was discussed. ► A novel method to determine dopamine by RRS was established. ► The detection limit of dopamine reached nanogram level.
