Synthesis, growth and characterization of a new nonlinear optical crystal: Glycinium hydrogen squarate (GHS)

► The glycinium hydrogen squarate (GHS) crystals have been synthesized. ► The crystal system was identified as monoclinic. ► The UV transparency cut-off wavelength of the grown crystal occurs at 342 nm. ► The SHG efficiency test by Kurtz-Perry technique showed positive result. ► The decomposition temperature was studied by DTA/TGA analysis.
