N- and S-bonded thiocyanate copper(II) complexes of 2,6-bis-(benzimidazolyl)pyridine - Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, X-ray structure and DFT calculations

► Two novel Cu(II) complexes of 2,6-bis(benzimidazolyl)pyridine were synthesized. ► The compounds were characterized by IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and X-ray analysis. ► The spectroscopic features of the complexes were investigated by DFT and TD-DFT methods.
