Palladium(II) complexes of terdentate azo ligands with an O,N,S donor set: Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, X-ray structure and TD-DFT calculations

2-hydroxy-1-(2′-alkylthiophenylazo)naphthalenes (HL) react with disodium tetrachloropalladate at room temperature and afford monomeric palladium(II) complexes having O,N,S coordination sphere. The resulting complexes have been characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography.
