Chiral dinuclear complexes with tetradentate ligands derived from (R)-(+)-1, 1′-binaphthyl-2,2′-diamine

Novel chiral dinuclear complexes of Δ,Δ-[Ni2II((R)-Hsalbn)((R)-salbn)(MeCN)2](ClO4)·2MeCN (1) and Λ,Λ-[Fe2III((R)-salbn)2(OMe)2]·Et2O·H2O (2) ((R)-H2salbn = ((R)-(+)-N,N′-bissalicylidene-1,1′-binaphthyl-2,2′-diamine) were prepared. Dc magnetic susceptibility measurements suggested antiferromagnetic interactions operative in 1 and 2.
