Self-assembly of organometallic polymers through hydrogen bonding: A diplatinum(IV) complex with a single bridging halide ligand

The binuclear platinum(IV) complex [{PtMe2(CH2C6H4CO2H)(bu2bipy)}2(μ-Br)][PF6] contains an unsupported bridging bromide ligand and forms a self-assembled polymer through intermolecular hydrogen bonding between pairs of carboxylic acid groups.
