Identifying common metalloprotease inhibitors by protein fold types using Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry

Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry has identified actinonin as an inhibitor of thermolysin. Molecular modelling studies revealed differences in PFT within the Zincin-like fold which account for specificity within the fold.
