Optical properties and electronic structure of terminal group-perturbed ethynyl-linked dendrimers

► We experimentally and theoretically investigate electronic structures which reflect the emitting principle. ► Electronic structures and photophysical properties are tuned by terminal group as donor. ► We reveal their emitting mechanism, π-π* transition, intramolecular charge transfer and both interaction.
