Polymorph (C2N2H10)0.5RE3F10·xH2O (RE = Ho-Lu, Y) and REF3 nanocrystals: Hydrothermal synthesis, characterization and luminescence

► A new polymorph of (C2N2H10)0.5RE3F10·xH2O has been synthesized. ► The RE3+ radius decides the shape evolution and phase control for REF3 NCs. ► The RE3+ radius has influence on the microstructure and morphology of REF3 NCs.
