Numerical modeling of field-activated combustion synthesis process of the B4C system

▶ We model field-activated combustion synthesis of B-C system. ▶ We investigate the effect of external field and porosity on the combustion reaction. ▶ The reaction cannot proceed unless the activated temperature is more than 1100 K. ▶ Porosity has a significant effect on the combustion velocity. ▶ Combustion velocity reaches a maximum when porosity is about 40%.
