Optical and electro-optical properties of (Pb,La)TiO3 transparent ceramics

► (Pb1−xLax)TiO3 ceramic with 0.18 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.23, were prepared by the solid-state reaction. ► Transparent ferroelectric ceramics of (Pb1−xLax)TiO3, x = 0.21, were obtained. ► Several thermal annealing steps are necessary to reach high optical transmittance. ► The optical quality attained allowed determined the electrooptical coefficient. ► The electrooptical characterized were for the first time for this system.
