Photoluminescence properties of non-stoichiometric strontium zirconate powder phosphor

► We report photoluminescence characteristics of non-stoichiometric SrZrO3 phosphor. ► Luminescence spectra and decays of Sr0.85Zr1.15O3.15 measured in 8-500 K region. ► Phenomenological model set up to explain observed temperature dependences. ► Nature of emission centre suggested and confront with the experimental data. ► Application potential of non-stoichiometric SrZrO3 powder phosphor is discussed.
