119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy analysis of Sn-Co-C composites prepared from a Fuel Oil Pyrolysis precursor as anodes for Li-ion batteries

► A single procedure based on low-cost reagents and good scalability was employed. ► The fluidization of the precursor produced finely dispersed composites. ► Electrochemically inactive Co3SnC0.7 may explain the observed capacity fading.
