Photocatalytical water decomposition on visible light-driven solid-solution compounds K4Ce2Ta10−xNbxO30 (x = 0-10)

► Visible light driven solid-solution compounds K4Ce2Ta10−xNbxO30 (x = 0-10) were synthesized by solid state reaction. ► These solid-solution compounds demonstrated water decomposition activities under visible light irradiation. ► Their electronic structures were studied based on the first principle calculation. ► The proposed band structure has good agreement with their absorption properties and photocatalytic activities.
