Self-reconstruction of obstructed Bessel-X pulses modeled by the FDTD method

In this paper, the self-reconstruction of Bessel-X pulses obstructed by circularly symmetric obstacles are simulated by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The obstacles used are a circular conductor, an annular conductor, and two circular conductors located separately on the axis. For each kind of the obstacles, the restoration of the incident pulse shape is clearly observed in snapshots of Poynting vectors at different instances of time. This work could lay the groundwork for simulating Bessel-X or other ultrashort pulse propagation in certain media whose analysis requires vectorial electromagnetic methods.
