Analysis and simulation of single-frequency Raman fiber amplifiers

► We theoretical investigate single-frequency Raman fiber amplifiers (SF-RFAs). ► The output powers of SF-RFAs are limited by Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). ► A combination of methods is proposed to increase the output powers of SF-RFAs. ► They include suitable pump scheme, short fibers, multiple-stage and SBS suppression.
