We present the application of the technique partially compensated deconvolution from wavefront sensing for obtaining high resolution images of the eye fundus, where the static component of the subject's ocular aberration is compensated with a customized static phase-plate. The technique was tested over an artificial and human eye. The results showed the superior quality of the images restored with the proposed technique. They also show the possibility of obtaining real-time high resolution images.
Research Highlights
► Compensation of the static component of eye aberrations boosts the system cutoff frequency above the cone mosaic characteristic frequency.
► Retinal vessels and cone mosaic images were observed in quasi-real time.
► Superiority of partially compensated deconvolution from wavefront sensing in front of deconvolution.
