Performance analysis of a FTTH link utilizing asymmetric data transmission

A WDM-PON recycling incoming light to transmit upstream data has been analyzed. Effect of Rayleigh scattering, uneven energy distribution and noise accumulation are evaluated to achieve 80 km bidirectional communication with <64× asymmetry factor.
